Where it all started
It started on a market stall in
Greenwich...
Clearcraft started over 35 years ago, on a market stall in Greenwich, with the idea to create great candlelight without the drawbacks of traditional candles or tea lights. Things grew from there.
Before long, our products were being sold through some of Britain’s best-known retailers, including John Lewis, Fortnum & Mason and Selfridges. At one point, we even had our own glassblowing factory, designing and making many of the candles ourselves.
Over the years the world changed, tastes changed and Clearcraft changed with them. But the thing that mattered most never really did.
We've always been rather obsessed with
candlelight.
Then we found our tribe
Then we found our

As Clearcraft evolved, we increasingly found ourselves enjoying working with people who understood just how much atmosphere matters.
Restaurants, hotels and wedding venues became a big part of our world, followed by cathedrals, churches and many other places where real candlelight makes such a difference.
Since then, more than 3,000 venues have used Clearcraft products, from wonderful independent businesses to some of Britain’s best-known names. Our candles have even found their way onto television and film sets over the years.
We still press pause when we spot one.

Still small. And we like it that way.
Turns out, small has its advantages.
