A beautiful candle with a rather special story.
The Houston Large is an elegant, hand-blown glass oil candle that’s perfect for larger restaurant tables, bars and centrepieces.
But there’s a little story behind its design.
I originally designed the Houston for my own wedding, 12 years ago.
Those first candles were considerably larger and looked wonderful on the tables. Unfortunately, their size and weight made them rather vulnerable to the rough handling that parcels sometimes receive from couriers!
So we went back to the drawing board.
The result is today’s Houston collection: smaller, lighter and stronger, while retaining the elegance and character of the original design.
And I think they’re all the better for it.
Beautiful on its own. Even better as a set of three.
With its elegant shape and 8 cm diameter, the Houston Large makes a lovely centrepiece for restaurant tables seating four or more.
It’s equally attractive on a bar, reception desk or dining table at home.
And if you really want to make an impression, combine it with the Houston Small and Medium to create a beautiful arrangement of three candles at different heights.
The varying heights add interest and create a particularly attractive display of real candlelight.
Each candle is individually hand-blown, giving it the character and quality that make handmade glass so appealing.

Unlike traditional wax candles, the Houston doesn’t gradually melt away or lose its shape.
Simply fill it with Clearcraft lamp oil, light the wick and enjoy the warm, welcoming glow of a real flame.
When the oil runs low, just refill it.
There’s no dripping wax, no scraping candle holders and no need to keep buying replacement candles.
And when used with our exceptional-quality lamp oil and correctly maintained, you’ll enjoy sootless, odourless candlelight.
