Terms & Conditions of Sale
Last updated: 7 October 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply when you buy goods from Clearcraft Limited through our website. We have tried to keep them as straightforward as possible. If you have any questions, please contact us at info@clearcraftltd.co.uk.
1. About us
Clearcraft Limited is a company registered in England and Wales.
Clearcraft LimitedCompany number: 03408157
Address: Unit 11, Kingstons Farm, Downhall Road, Matching, Essex, CM17 0RB
Email: info@clearcraftltd.co.uk
Throughout these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Clearcraft Limited. “You” and “your” mean the person or organisation placing the order.
2. Consumer and business customers
We sell to both consumers and businesses.
You are a consumer if you are buying mainly for personal use and not for your trade, business or profession.
You are a business customer if you are buying wholly or mainly for use in connection with your business, trade, profession or organisation.
Some legal rights apply specifically to consumers. Where that is the case, we make this clear in these terms.
Clearcraft also voluntarily gives business customers our 30-day no-quibble guarantee, as explained in our Returns & Refunds Policy.
3. Placing an order
When you place an order through our website, you are offering to buy the goods shown in your order.
After you place the order, we will normally send you an email confirming that we have received it. This acknowledgement does not necessarily mean we have accepted the order.
A contract between you and Clearcraft is formed when we confirm that the order has been accepted or the goods have been dispatched.
If we cannot accept your order, we will let you know and refund any payment we have already taken.
Reasons we may be unable to accept an order include an item being out of stock, a pricing or product-information error, payment not being authorised, or a delivery restriction applying to your address.
4. Prices and VAT
All prices displayed on our website are inclusive of VAT at the applicable rate.
Most Clearcraft products are subject to the standard rate of VAT.
Clearcraft lamp oil is charged at the reduced rate of 5% VAT.
Because different products may carry different VAT rates, an order containing lamp oil and other products may show more than one VAT rate.
Business VAT invoices
Business customers will receive a VAT invoice by email separately from the normal order confirmation.
The invoice will show the net amount and VAT separately so that VAT-registered businesses can reclaim VAT where they are entitled to do so.
5. Payment
The payment methods available will be shown at checkout.
Our current online payment providers include SagePay and PayPal.
Unless we have agreed separate credit terms with you in writing, payment is required when you place your order.
Payment may be authorised or collected before we formally accept the order. Taking payment does not by itself mean that we have accepted an order. If we cannot accept the order, we will refund the amount paid.
6. Product information
We take reasonable care to make sure product descriptions, measurements, photographs, prices and other information on our website are accurate.
However, minor differences can occur.
In particular, some of our glass products are hand made or hand blown. Small variations in shape, thickness, finish, bubbles or other characteristics can be a natural part of this type of glass and are not necessarily faults.
Colours may also appear slightly different depending on the screen or device being used.
These points do not affect your rights where a product is materially different from its description or is faulty.
7. Obvious errors
Occasionally, a price, description or other piece of information may be entered incorrectly on the website.
If we discover an obvious error before accepting your order, we may correct it and ask whether you would like to continue with the order at the correct price or specification.
If you do not wish to continue, or we cannot contact you, we may cancel the order and refund any amount paid.
We will not knowingly rely on this section to avoid an order simply because we later decide we would prefer to charge more.
8. Availability
All products are subject to availability.
We try to keep our stock information accurate, but occasionally an item shown as available may have sold out or become unavailable before we process your order.
If this happens, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible.
Where appropriate, we may offer an alternative product, but we will not substitute an item without your agreement.
If no suitable alternative is agreed, we will refund the unavailable item.
9. Delivery
Delivery options, charges and any relevant restrictions will be shown during the ordering process.
We currently use carriers including Royal Mail and APC.
Some products, particularly lamp oil, may be subject to additional carrier or destination restrictions because of the nature of the goods.
Delivery dates and times are estimates unless we specifically agree that a particular delivery time is essential.
For consumer orders, where no different delivery period has been agreed, goods will be delivered without undue delay and normally within 30 days of the contract being made.
Please make sure the delivery address you provide is complete and correct.
We are not responsible for delays or additional costs caused by incorrect delivery information supplied by you.
10. Failed deliveries
If our carrier is unable to deliver because nobody is available, they may leave instructions for redelivery or collection.
If goods are returned to us because delivery could not be completed, we may contact you to arrange redelivery.
We may ask you to pay reasonable additional delivery charges where a failed delivery was caused by circumstances within your control, for example an incorrect address or repeated failure to accept delivery.
This does not apply where the failed delivery was caused by us or our carrier.
11. When responsibility for the goods passes to you
For consumer orders, responsibility for the goods normally passes to you when you, or someone you nominate, takes physical possession of them.
For business orders, responsibility for the goods passes to you when they are delivered to the delivery address provided with the order, unless we have agreed something different in writing.
You own the goods once we have received payment for them in full.
12. Your consumer rights
If you are buying as a consumer, the goods we supply must meet the standards required by law.
Among other things, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for their normal purpose and match their description.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits or removes your statutory consumer rights.
13. Returns, cancellations and refunds
Our full returns arrangements are explained in our separate Returns & Refunds Policy.
Clearcraft offers a 30-day no-quibble money-back guarantee to both consumer and business customers, subject to the conditions explained in that policy.
Consumers also have statutory cancellation and faulty-goods rights which exist independently of our guarantee.
You can contact us about a return at info@clearcraftltd.co.uk.
Unless we tell you otherwise, returns should be sent to:
Clearcraft Limited, Unit 11, Kingstons Farm, Downhall Road, Matching, Essex, CM17 0RBCustomers returning lamp oil should contact us before sending it because carrier restrictions may apply.
Where the statutory consumer right to cancel applies, a standard cancellation form will be made available, although consumers do not have to use it and may simply contact us clearly to cancel.
14. Using Clearcraft products safely
Please read and follow any instructions supplied with our products.
Oil candles use a real flame and must be treated accordingly.
Keep burning candles away from flammable materials and never leave a burning flame unattended.
Use only suitable fuel in refillable Clearcraft oil candles and follow the recommended instructions for filling, wick adjustment, lighting and maintenance.
If you are unsure how to use a product, please contact us before using it.
Business customers are responsible for making sure relevant members of staff are given appropriate instructions.
We provide guidance, tutorial videos and a website video library to help with this.
15. Customer accounts
You may place an order as a guest or create a customer account.
If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure.
Please provide accurate and up-to-date information and let us know if your account details change.
If you believe somebody else has gained unauthorised access to your account, please contact us.
Our use of personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
16. Promotions and discount codes
From time to time we may offer discounts, promotional codes or special offers.
Any specific conditions shown with the promotion will apply in addition to these terms.
Unless we state otherwise, promotional codes cannot be exchanged for cash and cannot normally be combined with other promotional codes.
We may withdraw or correct a promotion where there has been an obvious mistake, fraud or misuse.
17. Business customers
If you place an order on behalf of a company, partnership, charity, church, hotel, restaurant or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to place the order on its behalf.
Business customers are expected to make sure the products they order are suitable for their intended business use.
Our 30-day no-quibble guarantee applies to business customers as well as consumers, although statutory consumer cancellation rights do not normally apply to purchases made wholly or mainly for business purposes.
18. Our responsibility to consumers
We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made.
If you are buying as a consumer, we do not exclude or limit liability where the law does not allow us to do so.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
19. Our responsibility to business customers
If you are buying as a business, we will not, to the extent permitted by law, be responsible for indirect or consequential loss or for loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill or anticipated savings resulting from an order.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability which cannot legally be excluded.
Any limitation or exclusion of liability under these terms only applies to the extent that it is lawful and reasonable.
20. Events outside our reasonable control
Sometimes events outside our reasonable control may delay or prevent us from fulfilling an order.
Examples include severe weather, carrier disruption, strikes, transport problems, fire, flooding, failure of utilities or communications systems, government action, supply-chain disruption or other unexpected events outside our control.
We will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect of the problem and will contact you where an order is materially affected.
Your statutory rights are not affected.
21. Complaints
If something has gone wrong, please contact us. We would much rather have the opportunity to resolve the problem.
Email: info@clearcraftltd.co.ukPost: Clearcraft Limited, Unit 11, Kingstons Farm, Downhall Road, Matching, Essex, CM17 0RB
Please include your order number where possible.
22. Privacy
We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
This explains what information we collect, why we use it and who we may share it with, including payment providers and delivery companies.
23. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
The terms that apply to your order will normally be the version in force when you place that order.
Changes made later will not retrospectively alter an existing contract unless required by law or agreed with you.
24. If part of these terms is unenforceable
If a court or other competent authority decides that one part of these terms is unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining sections will continue to apply.
25. Governing law
These Terms & Conditions and any contract between you and Clearcraft are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, this does not remove any mandatory legal protections that apply to you because of where you live.
If you are a business customer, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these terms or an order.
